In Fall 2023, Syracuse University announced the conversion of the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel and Conference Center into a residence hall. In March 2024, the University also announced the acquisition of the Skyler Hotel.
In December 2024, the University announced the development of of a new full-service hotel to be constructed on University Avenue. The Syracuse Graduate by Hilton is expected to open in Fall 2027.
A cross-campus working group has been established to put processes into place to make reserving rooms at area hotels (including the Skyler) and scheduling events a more seamless process for faculty and staff.
